Welcome to Los Altos Hills
Private community with spectacular views and real estate
Los Altos Hills is an affluent community spread over the rolling hills west and south of Los Altos. The landscape provides captivating views over Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay. Development of the area began with wealthy San Franciscans establishing lavish summer estates here in the mid-20th century. Many of these estates remain, along with breathtaking contemporary residences. Zoning regulations ensure all lots are at least one acre in size. The wooded hillsides provide these highly-desirable properties with exceptional peace and privacy.
Real estate in Los Altos Hills includes grand gated estates, classic Californian ranches, luxurious European-style residences, and striking ultra-modern compounds. Each property exhibits the finest in architectural creativity and interior design. Large windows and spacious outdoor areas accentuate the magnificent views. The Junipero Serra Freeway bisects Los Altos Hills, meaning residents of its lavish homes can easily commute to other areas within Silicon Valley and the peninsula.

People & Lifestyle
Convenient, private, and incredibly desirable, Los Altos Hills is home to the founders of some of Silicon Valley’s largest companies. Google founder Sergey Brin and CEO Sundar Prachi both live in the neighborhood. Yuri Milner, founder of the Digital Sky Technologies investment firm, made headlines in 2011 for his $100 million purchase of a 25,500 square foot property on La Paloma Drive. This prestigious community preserves its semi-rural character with no business district. Los Altos Hills is instead characterized by horse trails and sprawling open space preserves. The local Pathways system connects Los Altos Hills’ homes via an 80-mile network of trails.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
While no shops or restaurants are located within Los Altos Hills itself, the downtown area of neighboring Los Altos is easily accessible. Here you’ll find trendy restaurants, charming independent businesses, relaxed coffee shops, and stylish boutiques selling unique items for the home.
